Hello Everyone…welcome to the new Embodiment blog!
Amelia and I are writing to you from Anacortes, Washington where we’ve been hibernating as part of a little self imposed artist-in-residence. (Thank you Mom and Dad for letting us take over your house, we’re so lucky to have this time to focus and work.) Right now we’re editing, planning, & pulling together a pile of new content. Embodiment is known to many of you as a solo photography project that started way back in 2005. Last year, filmmaker Amelia Tovey came on board and since then the project has taken on a brand new life and direction – check out the gallery page and shop for the most recent examples of work.
Although most of the new photographs and video portraits won’t officially be launched until the end of the year, you can catch 4 brand new video works at the “Select Gender” exhibit at the Farmani Gallery in Brooklyn, which opens April 1st and continues through PhotoFest in May. You also have another week to catch the “Intimate Strangers” exhibition at The Tribute Gallery in Portland, 328 NW Broadway #117 – if you’re in Portland, go check it out.
